HIgh heels

I am a true believer in heels for women!
They put you on a pedestal which is where you belong.
Select the highest and most expensive pair you can wear for a function---
and learn how to walk in them first!
"You have to spend money to make money" Invest in good shoes and wait for the cocktail and dinner invites to pour in!

Stylish while being late

I do not think being late is stylish at all personally. I do think it is plain rude..however it sometime happens (more often it seems to some people than others) if you are stuck in this situation-- offer a sincere apology... offer compliments "How nice to see you- you look devine" then go on to comment about the weather or the traffic.
If you are very late- follow above- hint at some personal drama then take the attention away from yourself by engaging in the present conversation " So what have I missed ?
If terrible late you can borrow a line from Marilyn Monroe .......modified of course..her line was
"I have often been on calendars but never on time" your line could be...
"Gosh, I have never been on the cover of a calendar and I suppose also never on time!"
Ladies though try to never be so rude- be on time!

Perfume-Phase Two

After you are dressed- reapply your perfume in a spray and walk through it so the scent adheres to your clothes- you will not be over perfumed!
Hint- you can layer your scents so phase one and two need not be the same!

HIgh heels

Perfume Phase One

When getting dressed remember to spray or dab you perfume on your bare skin while you are applying your make-up- any where you think you may get kissed later is a good start!

Act as if you were.....

Act as if you had.....
fill in the blanks for yourself- Stop living for tomorrow or in days gone past.
Imagine you have whatever it is you desire- one of the secrets from "The Secret'.
Your thoughts can change your life- believe you have, are whatever it is you desire and at the very least you can enjoy your life in the believe realm.
I have done this for years- it has saved me so much money in new vehicles- I have a Mercedes, a Lexus, Ferrari-= (all in my mind) but I have had so much fun driving the various cars every day!
Treat yourself and respect yourself as though you had all you want or need.
(The added specialness in this is you find yourself not wanting, not judging and you are not jealous of anyone else- 'cause you have everything you want!)

Say no to gossip!

I know how much women talk about each other- and it seems to very hurtful and of no good ends. I understand how sometimes women like to talk about- most often the women they truly and privately envy- but really not nice!
We have all had at some time or other heard some hurtful gossip about ourselves- so please try not to lower yourself to white trailer trash and gossip about another woman!
Truly- most of the time women only do chat about someone, richer, taller, thinner, more successful then themselves (so in a way you are actually complementing the women you talk about as they are important enough for you to waste your valuable time degrading- we generally do not waste our time with folks that 'well just do not measure up to us!)
so- say no to gossip!

Do something naughty!

Nothing illegal- or mean spirited but something slightly naughty!
Go out in a dress and old fashioned stockings- sans underwear!
Steal a flower from your neighbours flower bed- heck go garden raiding after midnight! (Carefully)
Smoke a cigar and have some scotch-- in an evening gown!
Flirt with the waiter---
something spontaneous- fun and exciting!

Apologize - and mean it!

Sometimes we all make a blunder, faux pas, mistake--- or simply are snitty!
Gosh, darn and OMG--- well- buck up princess and apologize--- and mean it!
Simply by saying "I am sorry"---- makes you the Princess you are meant to be!

Only the best~!

Choose something in your life that you will only allow the best---for most of us that is something small (due to money). Pick the best bubble bath, the best towels, sheets, maybe shoes if you can afford it....
"I vow from this day forward I will settle for only the best of _____________"
For me that is chocolate!
Only the best will do---- however I will keep sampling- just in case the best is better then what I have had.

details- it is all in the details

Focus on the shoes-- remember to NEVER have heels that do not have the rubber on the heel! That sound is disgusting- also make sure the shoes are polished- sounds silly--But, you know as well as I do how many times you have seen women with unpolished shoes and that clicking noise!
Diana Vreeland went so far as to have her 'staff' polish the underside of her soles so the wear would not show- now that is classy!
Keep one of those self polish foams in your vehicle- take your shoes to the shoemaker and have them 'freshen' up your favorite pair- and wear them with jeans-- nice and polished always!

Coco and Jackie

Often in todays' world the fine art of simple manners seem to be forgotten- it is rather easy to remind one self that there are many women to emulate.
Coco, Jackie Kennedy, Auntie Mame ( from the movie of the same name) find your own idol and ask yourself what would she do in this situation...... for the younger set try not to choose any woman with the last name Hilton, Lohan or Spears!

Concierge Service

In this fast paced crazy world we live in - would it not be terrific to feel like you too are a star! When you visit top-drawer hotels - actually use the concierge service next time.
I remember years ago arriving in Montreal ( one of my better trip- suite at the Ritz!) at any rate- I needed help : I had a broken nail, needed dinner reservations for the Saturday coming and knew nothing about the city-- This man- knowing what is important- had me a nail appointment within 20 minutes and three fine places for me to choose for saturay dinner when I returned from getting my nail fixed- oh an also a hair appointment!
Yupppers- I felt like a princess- so next time you travel =use the hotel's service- it is free!
Also, many cities no have companies that provide the same sort of service to busy folks- don't know the best florist for you- restuarants, need tickets to a play- simply google your city and personal services and you can feel like you have 'people'.... and it can ease some of the social gitters!

Bread and drink at Dinner

I have been at far too many lunches and dinners and noticed way too many women do not know which is their bread plate and use theirs neighbours instead.... causing confusion around the table and leaving someone looking and feeling --well rather stupid.
(If this happens to you- best be discreet and ask the wait staff to bring you another plate- or simply do not have a bun--- better for your 'buns' to pass on the bread buffet anyway.
This is very simple and should be taught in kindergarten-- as even they will remember.
Take your left hand and curl your forefinger and thumb togethere and straighten out your remaining fingers, now do the the same on your right hand.... voila!
Your left hand looks like a "B"= bread hand
Your right hand looks like a "D"- drink hand-
so now you will always remember which is your bread plate and which glass of water/wine is for you!

Trays for tea, drinks and nibbles

There is one terrific way to always impress and that is the use of a tray!
Simple- easy to find-- second hand stores, vintage shops, box stores and yes I am sure even Tiffany's still sells trays.
What a lovely way to present tea, martinis or simple petite-fours to your guests- or yourself.
Indulge in elegance!

Disgusting!

Okay- I just 'got lucky'... I got to see my neighbour-- in all his overweight glory-- pushing around the lawnmower with no shirt on- his shorts hanging dangerously close to plumber status!
Plus--- he seemed proud as punch-- what is it with men who think we want to see their hairy, fat stomachs, and backs? Then it is these same men- who compare and complain about women gaining a pound or two!
Yukkkky! Guys come on-=== you give us women a hard time for not covering up when we should- could you please either lose the weight, keep your clothes on == or stay in the backyard like that!

Signature Gift

Create a signature gift that you become 'famous' for. I have one friend that is famous for her Lemon Load cake--- and her shortbread at Christmas. She insists you may only bake when you feel love- as it comes through in the baking......
If you are not such a baker- store some fabulous scented soaps for quick and easy wrapping, a special ice wine- mixings for a custom martini comlete with shaker- what ever say "You" to your friends!
Just think of all the extra invites you will get!

A lady in public, a lady in public, a cook in the kitchen and a ‘shhhh’

A lady in public, a cook in the kitchen and a ‘shhhh’
(and how not to get it backwards!)
You know her - she is one of THOSE girls - dresses impeccably, complete with a host of adoring men swarming over her at all times. She is married or maybe she isn't - she is the woman you hate, the woman you are jealous of, she is the woman YOU wish you were.
Please let me explain. I have watched women very closely for the last 4 years. I have conducted surveys with men, had the privilege of in-depth conversations with men - married, single, divorced, rich and poor, young and old - and they all tell me the same things.
I have learned from them what they are truly looking for in a woman.
Many women have not had the time resources or the opportunity to learn some of the fine arts of being a woman. In our society the game of making money –and more then your nieghbour- has become priority and the you miss out on the true luxury of being a fabulous woman and the ‘goodies that go with that.
To sum it up ladies, I have seen many women behaving like self- indulgent ‘princess brats’ — in a word, rude. This "Princess" " Diva" thing has simply gone too far. Please read the definition of a Diva—not nice! (Hint Webster’s Dictionary defines a ‘diva’ as a prima donna. Prima donna = "an extremely sensitive, vain or undisciplined person".) I doubt that is the label these women are coveting!. If you would rather learn how to be a modern day lady - with a flirty side - adored by your husband, lover(s), boyfriend, co-workers and family, read on!
Who am I to tell you? I am the granddaughter of an elegant Grande Dame - married and divorced by 23, excommunicated from the Catholic Church (after being raised in a convent) then a mistress for 23 years!
"Be a lady in public – a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom
and don’t get it backwards
………………….like most women do!"
(Lesson number one from my grandmother ---- who truly believes that is the mistake most women make)
Being a rebellious teenager, my mother married at 18 was divorced by 25, with two children. Mom became the muse of the Harper Valley PTA; her skirts were so short she needed matching underwear, not to mention the go-go boots. Her first ‘after children career’ was as a coat-check girl at the first strip club in town!
I was packed off to the suburbs with my father. My stepmother? School bake sales – I toted trays of perfect one-inch by one-inch little pink and white petite-fours. China dessert sets do exist and they are used at my stepmother's. She has never uttered a rude word, which I know of. She gets up first thing in the morning and does her make-up, works out daily, has an adoring younger husband (not my father, though he was younger too) and a long-term happy marriage. She is a true lady. She does not even gossip!
That is the quick story of my strange and marvelous life. The privilege of growing up with these three remarkable and utterly completely different women has given me a unique outlook on women, men, and women and men. Oy- what you can learn from them!
I will share with you what I have learned - how to flirt correctly, without looking like a tramp. Men love ladies who flirt, yet this is becoming a lost art. Simple social graces - how many women do you know have them any more? Etiquette - I know you think that is old fashioned, but you need to know it the basic rules before you can choose what to use and what to discard
We will also delve into details of fashion, flirting and please ladies clean the toilets before male guests arrive! Then we will explore some to the secrets of the secrets from famous courtesans for a touch of spice!
If you want a blog that tells you how wonderful you are, pick another one. If you want a private secret hideaway to share your hints and faux-pas sometimes frank, sometimes humorous, sometimes "salty" Mae West style. Grab a glass of champagne, (or from time to time a scotch and cigar—not really ladylike however it does add some spice to an otherwise perfect lady) or tea in a china cup. Settle down and get ready to learn how to be a ‘Lady in public, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom’

Welcome

These blogs; ladyinpublic, cookinkitchen, and whoreinprivate, were created to share and enjoy the many interesting and diverse ‘personalities’ all of us women have within us.
They came from a saying my grandmother used to tell me “Be a lady in public, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom. But don’t get them messed up like so many women do!”
As I have wondered through life I have seen, and made many of these mistakes, the price paid or involved may take years to be felt. I want to make every effort I can for women everywhere to enjoy the wonderful ‘roles’ we get to fulfill (along with all those terrific shoes!) and live the best life they can to achieved the greatest potential for themselves, and to truly enjoy being a ‘girl.’
We will include ‘sexy’ recipes, hair, fashion, etiquette tips, and yes indeed on the one blog share wild and wonderful ‘sexy’ ideas to get in touch with our sexy side. No matter if you are 20 or 60- or even older my wish is for all women to embrace being female and all the luxuries that go along with that.
There may also be interesting discussions on health, sex, food, décor, fashion, etiquette, manners and life in general.
One of the saddest things I have seen in my life is women not supporting each other – does it really matter if the ‘other’ women is taller, shorter, fatter, richer or poorer then you? You have the obligation to be the best you can be and to support not sabotage other women. That is what we will do here- no slander, grouchy or negativity here- there are other sites for that- here we will embrace and encourage our sisters to live to their full potential- and enjoy being a ‘woman with style, class and heart!’
Welcome
